Welcome! I’m Nan. I’m a former computer geek by day, with a creative soul that is screaming to get out!
I dabble in lots of artsy things, including quilting, painting, counted cross-stitch, and punchneedle. Fabric, thread, and color — what can I say? They “send” me! When I was a little girl, I used to make Chanel suits for my Barbie dolls, complete with pill-box hats. Seems like I’ve always had a needle in my hand.
My color sense has always been a little off-center. When I painted a nativity scene in 1st grade, I dressed Mary in magenta, not blue. And I begged for an orange bedroom as a kid (which my mom did NOT go for…) Orange is still my favorite color.
I love old stuff — not really antiques, because I don’t care if they’re worth anything. Just old stuff. Salt and pepper shakers shaped like cows, a pretty old sheet music cover, or a handful of old buttons.
I love books, both paper and audio, preferably mysteries where there is already a chalk outline on the floor when the story opens.
And last, but definitely not least, there is music, the great love of my life. I once put on a college application that I would die happy if I could ever play the collected works of Gershwin at the right tempo.
So there you have it, me in a nutshell.
Nan
I love this. It inspires me to work on some of my stuff.
